Man Left Unconscious In Winchester Attack

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed in Winchester.

At around 1.30am on Saturday, December 1 the 44-year-old was walking along Western Road, when he was assaulted and left unconscious.

He came round to find his wallet, phone and keys had been stolen.

He went to hospital where he was treated for facial injuries.

PC Dale Pusey, said: ''I am appealing for any witnesses who saw what happened or anyone who heard anything suspicious in the hours leading up to the attack, to come forward and speak to us.  Did you hear any loud noises that concerned you?  Did you see anyone hanging around the area?
''This has been a distressing time for the victim and a very unpleasant start to the festive season. Help us deliver justice to the person or people responsible by telling us what you know.''

Anyone with any information should contact the PC Pusey at North Walls police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers, the charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
