Man Shot By Air Rifle In Southsea

Police say a man found injured in Portsmouth was shot with an air rifle.

A 32-year-old man from Southsea received serious injuries in an incident reported to involve an air weapon at an address in Beach Road. Officers were called to the house at approximately 6pm on Saturday, October 29, 2011 after reports of a disturbance.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment. He remains in hospital, but his injuries are no longer believed to be life threatening.

Police can confirm three men arrested in relation to an alleged assault in Southsea were released from police custody on bail on the evening of Sunday, October 30, 2011.

The men, aged 34, 31 and 30, all from Southsea, were bailed until January 12, 2012 pending further enquiries.
