Second Man Charged Over Southampton Shooting

Detectives from Hampshire’s Major Investigation Team have charged a second man in connection with a shooting in Vanguard Road, Southampton on Sunday, February 19.

Malachi Augustus Francis, 26 of Lympstone Gardens, South East London, was arrested on Friday, March 2 and charged on Saturday night with intentionally causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm [with intent to cause a person to fear that unlawful violence would be used against them.] 

He has been remanded in custody until this morning (Monday 5th March) when he is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court.

25-year-old Calvin Angelo Lawrence, of Hansler Road, Peckham, London appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on Saturday, February 25th, charged with causing GBH with intent; and being in possession of a firearm with intent to cause a person to believe that unlawful violence would be used against him or another.

He was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Southampton Crown Court on April 23 2012.
