Mass Brawl After 21st Party In Southampton

Detectives from Shirley CID are appealing for witnesses and information after a large group of youths attacked party-goers who had attended a 21st birthday.

On Friday night, (September 17) a joint party took place at the Dockers club, in Brunswick Square. The celebrations went off without any trouble and finished around midnight.

As the 200-300 party-goers started to leave they were confronted by a large crowd of youths who had gathered outside the club.

A number of people from the party were approached and attacked.

Three victims received head injuries and needed hospital treatment. Two of those were knocked unconscious including a 19-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman who were hit over the head with a piece of wood.

Witnesses reported seeing the main suspect wielding a piece of wood and hitting a number of people with it. He is described as white, tall, aged in his late teens/early 20s.

The other youths are all described as in their late teens/early twenties, wearing hoodies and sports clothing.

PC Mick Connolly of Shirley CID said: “This was a particularly nasty brawl and it appears these youths deliberately gathered outside after the party had finished having been refused entry to the celebrations earlier in the evening.

“Did you see this group of youths in or around the Brunswick Square area around midnight on Friday?”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Connolly at Shirley CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
