PC Tom Wrenn, said: “These offenders have targetted a respectable hotel in a busy area of Portsmouth. One of the males has entered the hotel, walked into the staff area and taken a substancial amount of money from the safe.

“This incident happened in the middle of the day and there would have been lots of people walking by the hotel. I am confident that someone would have witnessed the incident or seen the two offenders involved.

“These men have shown a total disregard for other people and their hard earned money and a total disregard for the law. I would urge anyone with any information about this incident to contact us at the earliest opportunity.”

Anyone with any information relevant to this incident should contact PC Wrenn at Fratton police station by calling 101, or calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Callers from outside Hampshire and the Isle of White should call 0845 045 45 45.
