Portsmouth Man Jailed Over Wife's Crash Death

A man's been jailed for causing his wife's death in a motorbike crash in Portsmouth.

27-year-old Kristof Martin Fairley, from London Road, admitted causing death by dangerous driving, while banned and uninsured.

Ashley Fairley, who was 20 and riding as a passenger on the back of the bike, died in hospital after the collision in January.

Kristof Fairley has also been banned from driving for six years, following the sentencing at Portsmouth Crown Court on Friday (23 May).

Hampshire Constabulary received a call at 6.42pm on Tuesday 21 January 2014 to the junction of Eastern Road and Airport Service Road.

A collision had occurred involving a Ford Focus and a green Kawasaki motorcycle.

The motorbike pillion passenger, 20-year-old Ashley Fairley, received serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.

The Ford Focus driver, a woman aged in her 40s, was not injured.
