Naked Bike Rides In Hampshire

Two naked bike rides took place in Hampshire on Friday June 10th.

In the first, a handful of people cycled along Clarence Esplanade, through Old Portsmouth and around Southsea at around midday in a protest about oil dependency, car usage - and cyclists not being seen by motorists.

Earlier in the week, a church group handed a petition containin nearly 1000 signatures into the council protesting about the event, saying it was 'indecent', 'offensive' and unsuitable for children to see.

Police (fully clothed!) also cycled along with the riders.

Meanwhile a second naked bike ride took place in Southampton later in the day - dozens of cyclists gathered on the Common at 6pm before riding around the city centre.
