Police and Crime Commissioners Start Work
The new Police and Crime Commissioners for Hampshire and Dorset officially start work today (22nd November).
Martyn Underhill got the job in Dorset - he's already said he wants to see more volunteer officers on the streets to make the force more visible.
Hampshire voted in former Crimestoppers chairman Simon Hayes - he's been telling Heart he wants to work on reducing reoffending - and also getting officers to emergencies faster:
''I want to see the response times improved. This is not a criticism of the police, it's an observation that they're being asked to do too much, and so we need to address that problem.''
