Police Hunt Knifepoint McDonalds Robber

Detectives in Southampton are appealing for witnesses after a man threatened a member of staff at the McDonald’s restaurant in Shirley with a knife and demanded cash.

The 23-year-old worker was by the drive-through window at around 11.25pm  on Friday, November 5 when he saw a man knocking on it. When he opened the window the man pulled out a knife and told him to hand over the cash.

The victim handed over a bag full of cash and the robber ran from the scene into Church End that runs behind the building it is then believed he ran down an alleyway into Treeside Road.

The bag the robber got away with contained several hundred pounds in cash.

He is described as in his 30s and wearing a black hooded top.

Officers have been carrying out house to house enquiries in the area and are viewing CCTV as part of the investigation.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the incident or the man hanging around the area or running from the scene to contact them. They would also like to hear from anyone else who has information about the robbery.
