Police Investigate Indecent Assaults In Lymington

Detectives are investigating three indecency offences in Lymington.

In the first, a man went up to a 35-year-old woman as she walked along St Thomas Street and indecently touched her over her clothing.

It happened at around 7.50pm on Wednesday, November 27.

The woman shouted at him and he ran off towards Marks and Spencer
 
He is described as:

  • White
  • 15 to 18 years old
  • Slim build
  • 5ft 10 tall
  • Wearing dark coloured trousers and a light grey hooded top with the hood up.

 
The following day, at 3.20pm, a Police Community Support Officer was approached by a woman in a car who informed him that a man was exposing himself on the High Street.
 
An area search was carried out but no-one was found. The witness said the man was wearing a hooded top.
 
Then, at around 5pm on Friday, November 29, a 37-year-old woman was indecently touched her over her clothing by a man as she walked along Quay Street.
 
The suspect is described as:

  • White
  • 5ft 7 tall
  • Around 17-years-old
  • Wearing a black hooded top and carrying a red rucksack

 
Detective Inspector Fiona Bitters said: “We believe these incidents are linked and we want to identify the man responsible to prevent any further offences.
 
“I would like to hear from anyone with information about any of these incidents or anyone who thinks they may recognise the description of the suspect.
 
“I’d particularly like to hear from the woman who informed the PCSO of the man exposing himself during the afternoon of Thursday, November 28. You may have vital information so I would urge you to get in touch.
 
“Please be reassured that incidents of this nature are very rare and we are doing everything we can to identify the suspect/s and prevent further offences.  Additional resources are in place to assist in this.”
