Portsmouth Night Out Ends In Broken Jaw

A man's had his jaw broken in an assault on Guildhall Walk...

The victim, 22, had been enjoying a night out with friends in Portsmouth city centre last Thursday evening.

They were approached by two men sometime between 2am and 3am (Friday, November 5) as they were sat on a small wall outside a bar.

One of the victim’s male friends was wearing a dress as fancy dress and was being verbally abused.

The victim stood up to calm the situation and was assaulted by one of the men who then both ran off.

One of the offenders is described as: 

-White man

-Aged in early 20s

-5ft 11ins tall

-Medium build

-Short brown curly hair

 

DC Jim Garrett from Portsmouth CID said: 

 “The victim had his jaw broken in two places. He was taken to hospital and is due to have two metal plates fitted and will possibly suffer permanent nerve damage.

“The area around Guildhall Walk would have been busy as it was around closing time for most of the venues.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened to come forward.”
