Police are appealing for information after burglars forced entry into Greggs Bakers in the Bitterne Precinct and made off with a safe containing an unconfirmed amount of cash.
The incident occurred sometime between 9 and 9.30pm on Wednesday, August 15.
Two men were seen breaking down a fence to gain entry to the rear of the premises before forcing open a rear door. The safe was removed from the premises and dragged to a waiting silver coloured car which then drove off
Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information about who is responsible.
Information should be given by phoning Bitterne police station on 101 or anonymously on the Crimestoppers charity line 0800 555 111.
Officers say many of those were after people didn't secure their car properly.
