Rare Bike Stolen On The Isle Of Wight

Police are releasing photographs of a rare valuable mountain bike reported stolen on the Isle of Wight.
The bicycle was taken from the back of a red Renault Clio parked in the Co-op car park off Denmark Road in Cowes sometime between 4.30pm and 11.50pm on Saturday, January 15, 2011.
It's described as a white framed 'Intense Socom' mountain bike with the following specialist accessories.
- A black and white cow print SDG saddle
- Pink Burg Tech pedals
- Shimano Saints brakes
- Thompson Elite seat post
- A large number plate with 694 in bold print
- Marzocchi 888 WC forks and Chris King hubs
The total value of the bike and its accessories is estimated at approximately £6,000.
Investigating officer PC Justin Pringle of the Cowes Safer Neighbourhoods team said: "This theft has severely disrupted the
ambitions of a semi-professional cyclist who had plans to compete abroad this year.
We're pursuing several lines of enquiry and would like to thank staff in bike shops across the island for their help with our investigation so far.
I'm keen to hear from anyone with information about the whereabouts of this distinctive bike or the identity of the thief who stole it."
