Ring Worth Several Thousand Pounds Stolen From Jewellers

Police in Fareham have released CCTV of two men wanted in connection with the theft of a diamond ring worth several thousand pounds from R. Ayling jewellers in Thackeray Mall, Fareham shopping centre.

The suspects entered the shop at about midday on Wednesday, March 23 and asked to see the ring in the exterior window display.

A staff member got the ring out for them to view and one suspect remained outside the shop, while the other returned inside with the staff member to view it.

While the staff member was showing the ring to the suspect, he grabbed it and ran from the shop.

Both men are then believed to have got into a taxi to Portsmouth from West Street, Fareham.

PC Andrew Lainson said: “Witnesses to this incident and anyone who has information about the men responsible should contact Fareham police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
