Search For Chichester Kidnapper

Police are still trying to trace a suspect after a man was kidnapped in Chichester in the early hours of Sunday 8 January.

The 27-year-old victim was assaulted and taken from outside a property in Osborne Crescent at about 3am. He was later found in Chichester at about 2pm and taken to hospital having suffered cracked ribs and bruising. His injuries are not life threatening. 

Firearms officers were deployed to the scene as a precaution because of the type of incident. Police want to stress that group of people involved are all known to each other and there is no danger to the public. 

They want to speak to a 24-year-old local man about the incident.


Anyone with information or may have witnessed what happened is asked to come forward and contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Cyclone or alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

A 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl were arrested on Sunday 8 January on suspicion of kidnapping and later released on bail until 21 February.
