Search For Owners Of Stolen Camera

Police are looking to trace the owners of a camera recovered from a suspected burglar in Portsmouth.

Officers were called to a house on Suffolk Road, Milton, following reports of an attempted break at around 3pm on Tuesday, June 29.

The occupant of the house disturbed someone in the kitchen who ran off by jumping over the garden gate.

As a result of their enquiries, officers arrested three men from Portsmouth, 23, 23 and 16, on suspicion of burglary. All were bailed until August 27 pending further enquiries.

PC Jacqueline Foley from Portsmouth’s Burglary Investigation team said:  “From our investigations, we’ve recovered a silver digital camera which does not belong to the occupants of the house on Suffolk Road.

“It contains a number of images of a couple to whom we believe the camera belongs.

“Several of the pictures appear to have been taken on a day out at the National Museum Cardiff and we’re hoping someone may recognise them and come forward and claim the camera. If you recognise yourself, or know who the couple are, please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Foley at Fratton police station on 101 or 0845 045 45 45 from outside Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. You can also call the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
