Sikh Man Has Turban Stolen In Racist Attack

Police in Southampton are appealing for witnesses after a 29-year-old man was racially abused as he waited at a bus stop in the centre of Southampton.

The victim was stood at a bus stop outside the Civic Centre at around 8.40pm on Tuesday, April 26 when a group around five men who are described as ‘drunk’ walked past.

They were shouting and swearing at people and racial abused the man as they walked past. He turned away trying to ignore them and the one ran up behind him and pulled his turban off his head and ran off with it towards Southampton Central Train Station.

The turban is described as white with black markings.

All the men are described as white. One was wearing a checked shirt and the others t-shirts. It’s believed there were several other people at the bus stop at the time who saw the incident.
