A soldier's been found dead at an Army barracks near Emsworth.
The death has prompted a police investigation, although officers said there are no suspicious circumstances.
It is understood that the death of the 28-year-old bombardier at Thorney Island, West Sussex, on Wednesday 29 May is being treated as suicide.
An Army spokesman said:
"It is with great sadness we can confirm that a member of 12 Regiment Royal Artillery has been found dead on Thorney Island.
"Next of kin have been informed and while the death is not believed to be suspicious the matter is in the hands of Sussex Police.
"As such we are unable to comment further at this stage.''
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said:
"A 28-year-old man was found dead in a car at Army barracks in Thorney Island.
"Sussex Police were called to the scene at 8pm on Wednesday 29 May 29.
"His death is not being treated as suspicious.
"The matter has been passed to the coroner's officer and the inquest is yet to be opened. His next of kin have been informed."
The 12th Regiment Royal Artillery has been based at Baker Barracks, Thorney Island, since 2008 when it returned from Germany.
