South Coast Towns Get Cash Boost

Hundreds of towns across the country, including some on the South Coast, are being given £10,000 each to improve their High Streets.

Poole, Bournemouth, Weymouth & Portland, North Dorset, Portsmouth, Chichester, and the Isle of Wight are among those getting the money.

It's after applications by local MPs to be part of the project. In total more than 300 towns or cities have signed up to become 'Town Team Partners', and will benefit from a package of support, which includes help from the Government as well as advice and support from leading retail experts.

The extra cash will help the towns try new ideas on their high streets to make them more competitive and attractive to visitors.
