Man Charged After Serious Attack Outside Portsmouth Bar

Police investigating a serious attack on an 18-year-old outside a Portsmouth bar last week have charged a man.

Detectives identified the suspect as a result of their investigation and arrested him yesterday morning.
 
Dean Aldcroft, 21, of Warwick Crescent, Southsea, was this afternoon charged with two counts of assault, one by beating and one GBH.
 
He was bailed to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 25.
 
A second man, 22, also from Portsmouth was arrested in connection with this incident yesterday morning and was this afternoon released without charge.
 
The victim, who is from Trowbridge, Wiltshire, remains in a critical condition at Southampton General Hospital.
 
He was assaulted around 11.50pm on Thursday, May 13, outside Yates's bar on Guildhall Walk.
