Tribute To 'Big-Hearted' Hampshire Biker

Police have named a motorcyclist who died in a collision in Rownhams on Sunday July 7th.

He was James Ratsey-Woodroffe, 42, of Phillips Close, Rownhams.

Around 4.50pm, July 7, he came off the Triumph Daytona he was riding along Balmoral Way.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the motorcyclist prior to it.

Mr Ratsey-Woodroffe’s family have released the following statement: 

“He was a larger than life man with the heart to match”

These are the words of the heartbroken wife of James Ratsey-Woodroffe, who died tragically in a motorcycle accident on Balmoral Way, Rownhams on Sunday afternoon.

"He had a passion for motorcycles and shooting, but above all the most important part of his life was his wife, three boys and family.

"He was involved with many local projects in Romsey and throughout the community and will be remembered by many as a true gentleman."
