Two Southampton Children Seriously Hurt In Car Fire
A 5-year-old boy's in a life-threatening condition in hospital after a car fire near Winchester.
Hampshire Constabulary is investigating the cause of the fire in the village of Hursley, which has left three people with serious injuries.
Emergency services responded to a call from a member of the public just after 8pm on Monday 11 August who reported a car fire on Merdon Castle Lane.
A 37-year-old woman, a six-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy, all from Southampton, were rescued from the fire and transported to hospital.
The woman and girl are described as being in a serious condition. The boy is described as having suffered life threatening injuries.
The police investigation is focusing on the cause of the fire.
Road closures are currently in place at the scene of the fire to allow emergency services to carry out a thorough investigation. The next of kin have been informed of the incident and specially trained officers are supporting them at this time.
