Man Arrested Over Fareham Footpath Attack

Police have been questioning a man on suspicion of trying to kidknap a woman near Fareham.

A 38-year-old woman entered a path to the right of the Hoeford Inn public house, on Fareham Road, Gosport at around 4.20pm on Wednesday November 28th

She had been walking along the path for about five minutes when she was grabbed by a man. She had headphones on and didn't hear the man behind her.

Following a struggle, the victim fell into a bush. She kicked out at him and he ran off.

A 23-year-old man from Fareham was arrested at his home address at 11am on Friday November 30th on suspicion of attempted kidnap.
