CCTV released in renewed appeal after woman is assaulted in Paulsgrove

Detectives are continuing their appeal with the release of a CCTV image of potential witnesses, after a woman was attacked whilst making her way home, at around 12.10am on Sunday, February 21.

The 49-year-old woman had been at a friend’s 30th birthday party, and was passing the shops on Allaway Avenue as she walked the short distance home.

The woman was outside the Chinese take-away when she was attacked, receiving injuries to her face, head, knees and elbows. She was taken by ambulance to the Queen Alexandra hospital, where she was kept in overnight and received stitches to a cut near her eye.

The woman is now recovering at home.

Detective Constable Mel Sinclair said, “We have reviewed CCTV footage in the area and this group were nearby around the time of the assault. We would like to identify these people and speak to them – they may have seen or heard something which could assist our enquiries. If you think this may have been you, or you know who it could be, please contact the police.”
