Three Welsh forces investigating football abuse
Three Welsh police forces are now among more than twenty across the UK who are investigating claims of child abuse in football.
North Wales Police became the first to open investigations into claims of child abuse relating to sports clubs.
On Monday, South Wales Police become the second force in Wales looking at child abuse claims, saying it had received "one allegation of non-recent child sexual abuse related to an amateur football club".
Dyfed Powys Police has also now confirmed it has received, and is investigating, an allegation.
Head of NSPCC Cymru Des Mannion said: “There must be no hiding place for sexual abuse in football and many adults may have suffered such horrors as young players but have never come forward.
"People must be able to speak out and get the help they need and we know that can often be more difficult for men and boys.
"We welcome the FAW’s commitment to helping those in the game get the help and support they need."
The NSPCC and FAW are now urging people to contact the police or the NSPCC helpline on 0800 023 2642.
