How to fake eight hours' sleep

After indulging in a few too many Christmas spirits we all need a little help to look our best the next day.
Fake the fact you haven't had an early night firstly by removing all your make-up before hitting the sack.
Keeping a pack of make-up remover wipes beside your bed which will make this easy.
Sweep one of these over your face to remove all traces of foundation, and take extra care to remove dark make-up like eyeliner, mascara and lipstick.
Now to re-hydrate your body - and skin.
Drink a pint of water before going to bed and slather on an overnight eye cream and night cream such as Midnight Recovery Eye (£29) and Midnight Recovery Concentrate (£36) by Kiehl's.
It might take an extra ten minutes before going to bed - but you will wake up looking more refreshed, rather than tired and drawn.

Blend in Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Éclat Radiant Touch Highlighting Pen (£25) to hide any dark circles under your eyes.
Apply an illuminator over your cheeks and high points of your face - such as Benefit's High Beam (£18.50) which adds a pale rosy glow.
Brighten up your peepers with a glistening eyeshadow like Nars' duo Iceland (£24).
Finally, curl lashes and finish with a sweep of a great mascara like Virtuose by Lancôme (£21). It separates and lengthen lashes and will cover up any sign that you've had a big night the evening before.
