Treatment Test: Liz Earle Facial

We try out their new treatment room and experience the much talked about Liz Earle Signature Facial.

With all the icy, windy weather we’ve had recently, my skin was definitely in need of a facial to restore it to its former splendour. As a real champion of Liz Earle skincare products, I couldn’t wait to try out their new treatment room and experience the much talked about Liz Earle Signature Facial.

What was the treatment?
The Liz Earle Signature Facial (90 mins, £83)

“The Signature Facial focuses on what we do best and reflects the essence of the brand, harnessing all the benefits of premium naturally sourced ingredients that work hard to give you the best possible results no matter what your age, skin type or colour. Your skin will also benefit from the most up-to-date equipment (including high frequency vacuum suction) and intensive sequenced massage from our therapists’ magical hands. Our team of therapists has many years of experience and it’s the combination of sequenced movements by their expert hands, their in depth knowledge and the Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare products that means our facial will bring out the best in your skin.

Lasting a luxurious hour and a half, it’s a truly pampering treat that delivers outstanding results. Truly bespoke, the facial is tailor made to your personal skincare needs so whatever skin type you have you will see a visible difference to your skin after your first visit.”

What was it really like?
Duke of York Square is a haven amidst the organised chaos of the King’s Road and the Liz Earle store really draws you in with it’s calm and serene looking shop front. Once inside you can take comfort from the beautifully designed store: not a speck of dust or a product bottle out of place. The floor staff are also extremely knowledgeable, capable of providing me with concise product descriptions aswell as ingredients and benefits.

I de-robed for my facial and my therapist, Emma, immediately made me feel relaxed and secure with her soft voice and calm demeanour: I knew I was in good hands. I lay back on the treatment bed, which was more like a bed in a 5 star hotel: crisp, clean sheets and very comfortable.

Lasting for a relaxing hour and a half, Emma used a whole range of techniques to ensure my face got a full workout. She began with lymphatic drainage and manual extraction. Eye-watering, I admit, but I believe that a facial isn’t a facial without this process. The products smelled delicious as Emma mixed them and I felt deeply relaxed and stress-free as she worked them gently but firmly into my skin. The best part of the facial was the intensive sequenced massage that Emma performed. I felt that I had 10 pairs of hands on my face, taking care of every inch of my skin. Perfect in every way, Emma is a true expert in this hard-to-master art.

Was it worth the money?
Without a doubt. My skin looked and felt fantastic afterwards and I was really impressed with the level of service, the cleanliness of the treatment room and shop and, of course, Emma’s masterful hands. I will definitely return.
