Nowadays, chocolate is thrown around as a remedy to all things sad or happy like nobody's business. "Forgotten Mother's Day? No problem, here's some chocolate. I'm sad to hear you're ill – have some chocolate."

Now cheese... That's a meaningful gift. And here's the ultimate gift for the cheese-lover in your life this Easter.

Behold, the Cheester Egg.

The Cheester Egg is a 260g solid block of egg-shaped, vegetarian cheese and cost £14.95 each.

It’s the brainchild of food blogger Annem Hobson, who runs So Wrong It’s Nom , and is in collaboration with independent artisan cheese company Wildes Cheese.

The recipe is based on their Napier cheese, which was crowned London’s Favourite Cheese in 2015 at the Urban Food Awards.

"Chocolate is okay, but it’s a little boring and frankly I’m sick of seeing it dominating key retail periods," says Annem.

"Cheese is what excites me so I’m thrilled my plans for a Cheester Egg have finally hatched and that the Cheese Advent Calendar is becoming a reality. There’s a whole army of cheese lovers out there showing me their support and I hope I’m doing them proud."

And if you really want to show your love this Easter, Annem has also launched a range of ‘Nest Hampers’ which will include sourdough crispbreads and quince jelly.

You can order them to be delivered to you here , or you can ‘click and collect’ at weekends from either Broadway Market, Alexandra Palace Market or Myddelton Road Market.

And you can also collect it directly from Wildes Cheese in Tottenham .
