The Great Ginger Nut Drought Is Finally Over!

It's been a tough couple of months for lovers of ginger-flavoured biscuits, but fear not, there is light at the end of the tunnel! 

As if the recent UK floods weren't bad enough, they were also the cause of destruction and devastation at the United Biscuits factory in Carlisle in December.

Many of Britain's best-loved biscuits, including Custard Creams and Bourbons have been in low supply after the floods forced the factory to close, but it's Ginger Nuts which were hardest hit. 

And there's nothing quite like a shortage of biscuits to cause widespread panic among up Brits. We NEED them to dunk in our tea after all!

However, fans of the fiery cookie will be overjoyed to hear that "McVitie’s ginger nuts will start to appear on shelves from around 11-12 March, but there will be fluctuations dependent on the retailer" a McVitie's spokesperson told 'The Guardian'.
