Mary Berry Would Ban All Sugary Drinks If She Was Queen Of Our Kitchens
Baking superstar Mary Berry has opened up about the dangers of fizzy drinks and staying trim...
Baking queen Mary Berry is a bit like the nation's grandma, but that hasn't stopped her from saying some fierce words about sugary drinks.
Mary, or M-Bez as she is affectionately known, has said she would ban all sugary drinks because of how terrible they are for children.
The 81-year-old opened up to Good Housekeeping magazine, saying that families should also ban deep fat fryers because they encourage bad eating habits.
She said: "I honestly think there shouldn’t be sugared drinks. All my grandchildren drink water all through the day. I’ve just had them to stay and at breakfast they have water. They don’t even know what sugary drinks are."
She continued: "Many people think children must have chips. I don’t think any household should have a deep fat fryer. I never fry a doughnut! If you want a doughnut, go and buy one once in a blue moon. It’s about everything in moderation.
