The Best (And Worst) Female Drivers In Movies

From the ultimate road trip movie (yep, we're talking 'Thelma & Louise') to 'Charlie's Angels' and 'The Italian Job' - there are some amazing ladies behind the wheel. Here's our pick of the best female drivers from Hollywood blockbusters...

Sky Thelma and Louise

Move over chaps, because these female drivers are absolutely nailing it!

Car chases and explosions may look exciting in 'James Bond', but we'd much rather watch these ladies own the road wearing their seatbelts and never forgetting to indicate...call us old fashioned!

Stella Bridger, 'The Italian Job'

The 2003 big budget remake of 'The Italian Job' had Charlize Theron in the driver's seat and she certainly knew how to handle that amped-up Mini Cooper. We loved the way she was passionate about cars and driving - dispelling the myth that it's only chaps who like to rev an engine!

Thelma & Louise, 'Thelma & Louise'

Okay, so we know what you're thinking...don't they drive off the cliff at the end? That bit of the movie probably won't win any awards for safety conscious driving, but you have to admit, the rest of it is awesome. Plus, who wouldn't want to bump into Brad Pitt on the side of the road?

Natalie Cook, 'Charlie's Angels'

Cameron Diaz made everyone smile as Natalie in the 'Charlie's Angels' reboot, especially when she was flying a helicopter while free-falling through the air or jumping in a Formula One car to catch the bad guy. And who can forget the dance scenes!

Letty Ortiz, 'Fast & Furious'

The 'Fast & Furious' franchise is MASSIVE, but despite Vin Diesel's muscles our favourite character has to be Letty Ortiz aka Michelle Rodriguez. Let alone driving like a boss she's also risen from the dead...now that's a skill!

The Bride, 'Kill Bill'

Uma Thurman caused some serious damage as The Bride in 'Kill Bill', but one thing that never went wrong was her driving. Whether she was driving a particularly garish yellow truck or a sleek yellow motorbike, she always knew what she was doing.

Black Widow, 'The Avengers'

Come on, that black leather catsuit just can't be comfortable! Scarlett Johansson is the only female Avenger, which kinda sorta makes us a bit mad, but she's really damn cool. Motorbikes, planes, cars...we wouldn't put it past her to make a scooter look kick ass.

Lucy Wagner, 'Crossroads'

Britney Spears' first (and last) attempt at acting was in 'Crossroads' - a guilty pleasure movie of the highest order. She technically wasn't 'allowed' to drive Ben's car, but she did anyway with a bit of NSYNC on the radio. Just remember to keep your eyes on the road when you're dancing along to the radio!

And two of the WORST...

Whatever you do, don't copy these ladies at home! Yes, Victoria Beckham in the Spice Girls movie, we are pointing our fingers directly at you...

Dione, 'Clueless'

Poor Dione! She accidentally turns onto the motorway completely unprepared and terrified. It is by far one of the funniest moments in the film, but it also highlights how nerve-wracking driving can be when you're out of your depth. Our advice? Brush up on your skills before doing any long journeys you aren't comfortable with.

Victoria Beckham, 'Spice World'

Everyone knows stiletto heels and driving don't mix - but no one told Posh Spice that in 'Spice World'. The star tells the other girls to 'hold on to their knickers' while she goes full throttle over Tower Bridge. We recommend a seatbelt and a 30mph speed limit!
