Cheese shoes take the biscuit

Students design shoes made of cheddar for "Cheese Couture" competition

First we had the meat dress , and now the "Jimmy Cheese " shoes are the (partially) edible accessory to steal the spotlight in the fashion world.

After the success of last year's cheese sculpture awards, cheddar brand Pilgrims Choice have launched the "Cheese Couture " competition, to celebrate the Royal Bath and West "National Cheese Awards".

Three Bath Spa University students have already submitted their design: a pair of shoes made of cheddar cheese , packaging materials and grading iron.

"Our sponsorship of the National Cheese Awards has become the high point of the year for consumers and visitors to the Show who love cheese!" says Hannah Jenkins of Pilgrims Choice "We had an incredible response from the public last year to our Cheese Sculpture Awards Class, where we show-cased the World’s largest cheese sculpture ever recognised.    This year, we are set to go one step further and I can promise visitors they won’t be disappointed!"

The "Cheese Couture " competition runs from April 13th until June 6th.
