A14: Man Killed In Crash With Horses Has Been Named

Police have named a man killed on the A14 in Suffolk after a crash involving horses loose on the road.

23-year-old Thomas Allen from Soham in Cambridgeshire died in Ipswich Hospital on Christmas Day.

His car was one of four in a collision with six horses loose on the A14 at Sproughton.

Suffolk Police have told Heart: "Officers were called to the scene at around 10:20pm following a report that approximately 5-6 horses were loose on the A14 at Sproughton and four vehicles had been involved in a collision with the horses.

"A man was taken to Ipswich Hospital with life threatening injuries and sadly died yesterday, Tuesday 25 December.

"A 26-year-old Ipswich man arrested on suspicion of causing danger to road users, has been bailed pending further enquiries and will return to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on 28 February 2013.

"Witnesses to this incident are asked to call PC Ali Cotton at the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Suffolk Police on 101."
