A14: Woman Dies After Crash

Suffolk Police are currently dealing with a fatal collision on the A14 at Nacton.

Officers were called just after 10:20am this morning to reports of a three-vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway involving a lorry, a van and a car.

Both lanes are currently blocked and diversions have been put in place at the Seven Hills roundabout, with vehicles able to rejoin the A14 at the Ransomes/Nacton interchange.

The ambulance service and the air ambulance were also in attendance and a woman, believed to be in her thirties, has died. There are not thought to be any other serious injuries.

A 43-year-old man from Feltham, Middlesex has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.

The road will remain closed while collision investigators carry out their enquiries and the vehicles are recovered.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
