Air crash investigators have recovered the wreckage of a light aircraft that came down near Hadleigh in Suffolk on Saturday.

It crashed into a tree in the village of Aldham before ending up in pond.

Police and the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) stayed at the scene across the weekend, and the light aircraft has now been recovered by the AAIB and taken from the scene.

Police can confirm that the one casualty who sadly died was a man.

The man's next of kin have been informed but formal identification has not yet taken place.

The AAIB will carry out an investigation to try and work out the cause of the crash together with the assistance and support of Suffolk Police in order to prepare a file for the Coroner.
