Body Believed To Be Missing Beccles Man

Police investigating after the discovery of a body in a river at Aldeby yesterday say they believe it to be that of a missing man.

Following the discovery of a man’s body in the River Waveney at Aldeby in Norfolk yesterday, Monday 22nd October police can confirm that they believe the body to be that of missing Beccles man, 33 year old Mark Pease.

 

Police were called to Aldeby at 9.45am to reports of a body in the river. Police, fire and ambulance all attended and the body was removed from the water at Burgh St Peter.

 

Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place.

 

A post mortem examination will be carried out later in the week to ascertain the cause of death.

 

As is standard procedure the death will be treated as unexplained at this stage but there are no suspicious circumstances.

 

The matter has been referred to the coroner.
