Bury St Edmunds: Fire Treated As Arson After Seven People Rescued

Police have told Heart they are treating a fire in Bury St Edmunds, where seven people had to be rescued, as arson.

Three fire crews from Bury St Edmunds were called to a flat fire in Glastonbury Road at around 3.30am Saturday, April 13.

Two people had to be rescued from the roof after smoke in the hallway stopped them getting out of the two storey building.

Five more people were led to safety. 

Police now say they are treating the incident at arson and have begun an investigation to find who started the fire.
