Bury St Edmunds: Man Arrested in Murder

Suffolk Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called at 11.57pm on Monday 20 February from a member of the public saying there was a fight in progress near to an address in Ashwell Road, Bury St Edmunds.

Officers were sent out immediately and discovered a collapsed man. The officers tried to revive the man before he was taken to West Suffolk Hospital.

The man was pronounced deceased a short while after arriving.

A man who was found near to the address in Ashwell Road has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The 48-year-old man from the Bury St Edmunds area was taken to the town's Police Investigation Centre where he will be questioned in due course.

A cordon has been set up at the property and will remain there until officers have conducted their enquiries and gathered evidence.
