Bury St Edmunds: Man Charged After An Attack

A 20 year old man has been charged after a robbery and sexual assault in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were alerted at around 3:10am on Saturday morning (20th July) of an injured man in Fieldfare Close. The man, who was also in his twenties, said he had been robbed, assaulted and sexually assaulted by a man in Mount Road between 2:30am and 3am.

Police arrested a man a short time later on suspicion of robbery and he was taken to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he was charged.

Kyle Haggerty of Anselm Avenue, Bury St Edmunds has been charged with attempted rape, robbery and burglary. He is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court today (Monday 22nd July).
