Bury St Edmunds: Man Charged

Suffolk police have charged a man following an incident at a property in Mayfield Road, Bury St Edmunds yesterday.

Officers were called out at approximately 1:37pm after getting reports of a dispute where a man had been threatened.

Two men were arrested and taken to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.

Matthew Norwood, a 22-year-old man from Tutelina Road, Great Whelnetham has been charged with possession of a firearm when prohibited, possession of an air weapon with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of a blade/pointed article in a public place.

He is due to appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates Court this morning.

A 23-year-old man was released by police and will face no further action.
