Bury St Eds: Murder Police Extra Time For Questions

Police investigating the murder of 66 year old Peter Avis in Bury St edmunds have been given more time to question a 34-year-old man.

 

Magistrates have granted officers until tomorrow, Wednesday 18 January, to continue to hold the man, who was the first arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday 13 January.

The second man arrested - a 30-year-old detained in London on Sunday 15 - remains in custody.

Three others arrested yesterday at Bury St Edmunds - an 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder and conspiracy to commit burglary, and a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary - continue to be interviewed by officers at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.
