Bury St Eds: Race For Life Cancellation

26 June 2012, 06:00

After a Race For Life event in Bury St Edmunds got cancelled over the weekend because of the rain - organisers are telling Heart they're doing everything they can so they don't lose out on funds.

Thousands of women had already taken part in the morning event at Nowton Park to raise money for Cancer Research UK, however, because of the wet weather and muddy conditions, organisers say the ground was unsafe for the cars to park on, as well as the course itself.

Gemma Turpin from Cancer Research UK has been at the ground and is telling Heart more about what you can do to make sure you don't lose out on sponsorship:

If you want to be transfered onto another race elsewhere you can call the Cancer Research UK hotline on: 0871 641 1111 or go to http://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/index.html
