A man who was found with head injuries outside his home in Buxhall in Suffolk may have been trying to clear snow according to police.

Graham Clark was discovered with serious head injuries in the village of Buxhall in Suffolk on Tuesday afternoon.

Paramedics tried to save Mr Clark, who was in his 70s, but he died at the scene in Brettenham Road.

Neighbours said they had seen him clearing his driveway a short time earlier.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said: "An investigation is being carried out which is looking at the cause.

"One of the possibilities being considered is that the man was clearing his driveway of snow and then hit his head, but all possibilities are being investigated.''

Sergeant Bob Patterson appealed for witnesses to come forward.

"This man has sadly lost his life and we are trying to piece together information to ascertain what happened,'' he said.

"Initial reports suggest that the man may have fallen into the road, but we are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed what happened to get in contact with us.''
