A security woman has been robbed after leaving a supermarket at Copdock near Ipswich.

Suffolk Police were called at approximately 9.15am yesterday morning, with a report that a security woman had just been robbed of a cash in transit box whilst leaving the Tesco store at Copdcok near Ipswich.

Two men approached her as she was leaving the store and snatched the cash box, which contained a large quantity of money, from her and ran off in the direction of the Park and Ride and a pathway towards the Old London Road.

The security woman had seen the two men near to the bus stop at the store prior to making her collection.

One man is described as of mixed race appearance in his early 20s around 5"7 -  5"8 tall, he had a rugged complexion and was unshaven with dark eyes, he wore medium sized clothing which was a black/dark top (either a jacket or jumper) with a hood, and dark blue jeans.

The second man was also around 5"7 - 5"8 tall and he wore similar clothing.

Police are not ruling out that the two men may have left the area in a vehicle.

Searches of the area have been conducted including with the police helicopter and search dogs and enquiries are ongoing.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Tesco or the Park and Ride who may have witnessed this incident.

They are particularly keen to hear from a young man, in his 20s, who was seen getting onto an Ipswich Buses bus (route no.13) which left the store around the time of the incident.

Anyone who witnessed this incident should call Detective Sergeant Tamlyn Burgess at Bury St Edmunds CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
