The manager of rock star Pete Doherty has been jailed for 12 months for being involved in a hit-and-run crash here in Suffolk.

42-year old Andrew Boyd, from London was sentenced by a judge at Ipswich Crown Court after admitting dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and other motoring offences.

Pedestrian Chris Corder was left in a coma after the crash in Hadleigh in September 2009.  He is yet to regain consciousness.

Boyd was also banned from driving for three years and must pass another driving test to get his licence back.<

Judge David Goodin said Boyd will be eligible for release on licence after six months in jail.  Members of Mr Corder's family were in court - one relative approached Boyd outside court and called him "scum''.
