Felixstowe: Suspected WW2 Bomb Found

Officers from Essex Police Marine Unit are involved in an operation to investigate what is believed to be a Second World War bomb which has been exposed by the low tide between Felixstowe and Harwich.

The situation is today is being assessed by bomb disposal experts.

Police officers are working closely with other agencies and appropriate action will be taken when bomb disposal experts have examined the device.

It is thought the weapon has been in the mud for around 67 years and has posed no risk to the area in that time.
