Haverhill: Woman Reports Sexual Assault

Police are appealing for information after receiving a report of rape in Haverhill.

Officers were called by the ambulance service at 12.05am yesterday morning to Queen Street in Haverhill where they were treating an injured 23-year-old woman.

She then reported being raped at Murton Slade earlier in the evening.

A 17-year-old boy from the Halstead area of Essex has been arrested on suspicion of rape and is in custody at the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he will be questioned.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have seen the woman between Murton Slade and Queen Street between 11pm on Friday 16th December and 12.05am on Saturday morning.
