Hundreds to Save on Household Bills
People in parts of Suffolk are going to be able to get grants to help them cut their household bills.
People living in the Bridge ward part of Ipswich are going to be the first to be able to apply for free energy efficiency goods under the Greener Homes DIY scheme.
People interested in taking part in the scheme can go along to an information day on Saturday 23rd October, between 10am and 1pm, at St Mary at Stoke Church Hall, Stoke Street.
The scheme works by providing householders with things like loft insulation, solid wall insulation, hot water cylinder jackets and radiator panels for free, but residents must fit the items themselves.
The grants fall into three bands – up to £350 worth of goods, up to £250 worth of goods and up to £150 worth of goods. The value of the goods awarded to households is linked to their income, as well as the current energy efficiency of the home and the number of people living there.
