Ipswich: Attempted Robbery Outside Shop
Police in Ipswich are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery outside a shop.
Police were called to the Pick ‘n’ Pay shop in Queens Way, Ipswich at around 10.35pm last night, Wednesday 31 October.
As three staff members were closing up the shop they were approached by four men who had come from the direction of Shackleton Road. The men demanded money from them and assaulted them with a baseball bat and an item, which appeared to be a taser type weapon, which was used to give them a shock.
No money was taken and all four men made off in the direction of Shackleton Road.
Police and paramedics attended the scene. The staff members were treated for minor injuries, scratches and bruises.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw the four men who are described as follows:
All were aged in their late teens, of slim build wearing hooded tops. Three of the tops were dark and one light in colour, the hoods were worn up and two wore dark face masks, one wore a smiley face mask and the fourth man didn’t wear a mask and was of Asian appearance.
Calls in relation to this incident should be made to Ipswich CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
