Ipswich: Man Arrested After Knife Point Robberies

A man is being questioned following two knife point robberies in Ipswich on Friday 27 September.

A woman reported to police that a man tried to rob her of a handbag and threatened her with a knife in Fletcher Road at approximately 1pm.

Shortly after a second woman made a similar report to officers that a man had tried to grab her handbag while threatening her with a knife in Wherstead Road at approximately 1.30pm.

Following the second incident, a suspect was detained by a member of the public until police arrived.

The 27-year-old man from Ipswich was arrested on suspicion of robbery and is currently being held at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
